This photo shows the old lake in Jarrow park over 100 yrs ago in 1890.The bandstand is still in the park today but the lake is long gone.

This photo is of Boldon Colliery 'Silver Band' in 1921 outside the 'Queens Head' with the Landlord of the pub in front.

St Bedes well in 1932 with the Slag Heap behind. In the 50's all that brickwork was buried & only the top stone was visible amongst the reeds & grass.

Jervis Park in 1933. Patrick Brennan says the popular name is Springwell Park & the flower bed was the old Papermill reservoir..
